ICASA Young Writers Series
Each edition of ICASA trains a cohort of young African writers to report the conference — and the epidemic — from inside the continent.
How it works
Writers aged 18–30 apply from across the five zones. Selected participants are paired with an editor and a scientific mentor, attend the conference on a full scholarship, and publish daily dispatches in English and French.
Recent dispatches
- "What a queue tells you about a clinic" — Kigali, day two.
- "The budget line nobody reads" — reporting on domestic financing.
- "Six months on PrEP" — a young person's account from Abidjan.
